Steve Scamp

Steve has been drawing since childhood, first took up painting in his 20s, then began painting again in 2017 after a 20 year hiatus. He paints in a realistic, often detailed style. Attracted by the patterns in both nature and the built environment, he gets inspiration from the light, colours and textures of the Noosa region and beyond. Currently trees and their bark patterns are a particular focus. He usually starts with rough compositions, then waits to see what unfolds on the canvas. He treats every work as a unique challenge and a chance to sharpen his problem solving skills.
