Simone Z Leao (aka Outer) is a textile and mixed-media artist and designer. Her work focuses on the space that separates the inside and the outside of an individual. This layer carries the tension between the private and the public, the uniqueness of the individual and the collectiveness of the society and the environment they belong.

Outer’s innovative approach to fashion design includes the creation of unique fabric patterns based on her drawings, and 3D textiles through fabric manipulation techniques. An off-grid barn-style studio immersed in a native forest in the Noosa Hinterland provides her inspirational environment.
