Gwen Cook PAINTER
Gwen grew up in Melbourne and worked in the art department of "Patons Knitting Wools" designing knitwear, embroidering garments and ticket writing, etc. In later years she took up art as a hobby and enjoyed working in pastels but was more drawn to acrylics for their brilliant colour. Her inspiration is often nature, which provides her with many ideas for design and colour harmonies. In her paintings she focuses on aesthetic design rather than a purely accurate botanical representation. She enjoys exploring the use of colour, pattern and bold design elements. She has had solo exhibitions in Galleries in Victoria.
