After moving to Noosa in the 90's, Dave joined the Wallace House Watercolour, Creative Artists and Tinbeerwah Art Groups. He paints with watercolour and acrylics, incorporating skills from his pastry-cooking days, using piping-bags and pallet-knives to add texture and structure to his underwater scenes.

Dave later joined the Ceramics Group and found a new creative joy working with clay. His award-winning ceramic clowns and characters brighten up many homes interstate and overseas. They are all unique and individually created. He likes to keep them quirky, humorous and colourful. Dave was a founding committee member of Noosa Open Studios
